" Rachel Fields, often called "Brick" was born in the delta town of Pine Bluff Arkansas. Sheryl and Dan Crow of the Nashville Blues Society deemed Brick as the “First Lady of The Gospel Blue” and say her music is an “Unleashed Cleansing of The Soul”. Doug Hill of the Norman Transcript says that her music builds a worshipful House of Blues! Rachel along with her husband Larry form the group "Brick Fields." Brick Fields are multi-award winning artists as both performers and songwriters. In the beginning of Rachel's career she traveled most of the country and
sang improvisational blues with the Summer Sun music festival jam band in the late 90's opening for artists such as Warren Haynes, Merl Saunders, New Riders of The Purple Sage and JGB. She was then invited to go on an east coast tour with JGB and later went on to perform, write and record in The Bay Area of CA with several west coast musicians, including making an appearance under the name "Rachel Rose" at the Monterey Blues Festival in 1999. Her first experience in a recording project was with a group called "Big Folk" which was a blues/bluegrass style trio that included Peter Harris and Jude Gold. Brick comes from a line of musicians on both sides of her Arkansas native family including her Uncle, a loved and treasured Arkansas songwriter Mike Scoggins also known as "Burger". In 2002 she spent some time writing and recording for a music company in Nashville where her songs were recorded by some recording country artists. Her music is played on blues, independent, children's and gospel radio stations world wide as well as included in some independent films. Since the 2015 Got Soul tour in Israel, Brick Fields can now be called international touring artists. When Rachel is not with the Divas she makes her living writing, recording, touring and performing with her husband Larry Brick. Rachel hosts a weekly house gig called Blues Therapy in Fayetteville AR where she is often surrounded by an array of talented musicians that form the many extended musical projects of Brick Fields Music. Rachel is also a full-time home-schooling mother of three girls and manages a small Online Music hub for Roots music called Ozark Mountain Records.
